2.  A fun way to meet the locals in Luang Prabang is to join in for a game of petanque, a national pastime.
3.  Away from the crowds, creep through the little-used eastern gate of Angkor Wat before dawn, your path lit only by torchlight, and watch the sun rise over this magnificent temple.
