2010 Tibet Experience - 12 days

Hang prayer flags outside a monastery whilst taking in the incomparable beauty of Tibet.

This spectacular 12-day journey will introduce you to the highlights and complex history of Tibet. We spend some extra time in Lhasa in order to get acclimatised to the altitude, and visit remarkable monasteries, some Buddhist rock paintings and a seldom visited Tibetan nunnery. Your journey starts and ends in Chengdu, home to the world famous Giant Panda.

Trip grading: ADVENTUROUS Suitable for travelers with above average levels of fitness and mobility. Prepare for some long road journeys, plenty of walking and climbing stairs, and coping with the effects of high altitude (over 4,000 metres).

What's included: 11 nights hotel accommodation, flights as specified, all road transport by air-conditioned vehicles, Tibetan travel permit, all sightseeing as specified, entrance fees, Western tour leader based on a minimum of 7 travelers, local English-speaking guides throughout, arrival and departure transfers, and breakfast daily.
