On our 8-day Yunnan Explorer we take you beyond the main towns to remote villages, including one that is home to a Tibetan community in Zhongdian. We begin our journey in Kunming then fly to the ancient lakeside town of Dali. A spectacular drive takes you to magical Lijiang and Zhongdian, known as ‘Shangri La’.

Trip grading: MODERATE Suitable for travelers with an average level of fitness and independent mobility. Prepare for some long road journeys and high altitude in Zhongdian.
