China cities - Hangzhou

A well known Chinese saying unashamedly describes Hangzhou as paradise on earth. At Travel Indochina we like to escape to Hangzhou for a fews days relaxation and respite from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai.

Hangzhou's attractions include Felai Feng (Flying Peak) and Lingyin Si (Temple of the Soul's Retreat). Best visited in the early morning when there are less crowds this is a great area to wander around the stone rockeries and temple halls. In the Longjing area, famous for its tea production, see rolling hills of terraced tea plants and sample some of the locally grown brew.

The main feature of Hangzhou by far is the beautiful and scenic West Lake (Xi Hu). Dotted with little islands of pavilions and temples, you cannot pay a visit to Hangzhou without having experienced some cruising on the peaceful lake waters or a stroll along the pathways of the surrounding leafy green parklands.
