2013
DAYS 1-3: BEIJING
On arrival in Beijing, transfer to your hotel. Walk through the expanse of Tiananmen Square before continuing on foot to the impressive Forbidden City. Unearth one of Beijing’s few remaining backstreets, or hutongs, for lunch in a local home and a rickshaw ride. After viewing the famous Drum Tower, you may choose to explore the Wangfujing Night Markets. A trip to Mutianyu affords the opportunity to walk the incredible Great Wall of China, before free time to dine on sumptuous Peking Duck.

DAYS 4-5: XIAN
Wander the lovely Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace before a short flight to Xian. Witness the incredible number of intricate Terracotta Warriors, hidden for so long, and explore the fascinating Muslim Quarter and the Big Goose Pagoda. Don’t miss the chance to indulge in a lavish dumpling banquet.

DAYS 6-8: YANGTZE RIVER
Fly to Chongqing and board the handsome Victoria Grace for a cruise down the Yangtze. Relax on your private balcony as ever changing vistas of shiny new cities and remnants of old towns drift by, beholding the amazing Three Gorges. A number of compelling shore excursions enhance the trip including a fascinating visit to the dam site.

DAYS 9-12: SHANGHAI & ZHUJIAJIAO
A short flight to Shanghai brings you to one of the world’s most riveting cities. Admire the fashionable, Art Deco streetscapes of the Bund, and then visit the superb Shanghai Museum and peaceful Yu Garden. Explore the backstreets of the Old City in the lively Chinese Quarter, and visit the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao. The famed Shanghai acrobats will astound. On your last day, enjoy free time before your departure transfer.
