Stay in a tented camp on the historic River Kwai and explore temples and a million toys in the former capital, Ayuthaya, and then meet the amazing creatures at an elephant conservation park in the jungle near Chiang Mai. 2013
DAYS 1-3: BANGKOK
On arrival in Bangkok, transfer to your hotel and meet the rest of the families sharing your Thai adventure. Take a fun tuk-tuk ride through Chinatown to the glittering Grand Palace and serene Wat Po. Cruise on a traditional longtail boat and tour the canals of Bangkok and feed the fish at Wat Arun. A cycling trip through the local streets and across the river is a great way to see more of the city before free time with the chance to visit Ocean World or Jim Thompson’s House.

DAYS 4-5: RIVER KWAI
Drive to the beautiful River Kwai region, stopping at a salt farm and fish market, before boarding a boat to see the floating markets. Take a railway trip over the bridge and discover some of the rich and turbulent history of the region at Hellfire Pass and the Bridge over the River Kwai. Travel to your accommodation, a safari-style tented camp. In the morning, take a relaxing boat ride to discover a shimmering waterfall and a cave, then visit a local village of the Mon people, with the opportunity to ride an elephant.

DAY 6: AYUTHAYA
Ayuthaya is the former capital. Visit the million toy museum and explore impressive ruins, including the World Heritage listed Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Mahathat. Take a thrilling overnight train journey to Chiang Mai.

DAYS 7-10: CHIANG MAI
Admire the stunning views from the hilltop Doi Suthep temple, one of the most sacred in all of Thailand, and see the city’s sights on a fun samlor tour. Walk through the markets and then head for the Thai Elephant Conservation Center, a conservation project where you can interact with these amazing creatures. At Lisu lodge, take an elephant trek through the forest and board a thrilling bamboo raft for a trip down the river. On your last day enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
