2009 Cycling Cambodia & Vietnam - 15 days
Jump aboard your bike for the cycling adventure of a lifetime in Cambodia and southern Vietnam. On this new 15-day journey you will experience rural life at close range as you get off the main tourist trails and discover little-visited towns and friendly villages by bicycle. Explore the temples of Angkor, immerse yourself in the historical and cultural sites of Phnom Penh and head deep into the rural heartland of the Mekong Delta via a recently opened border crossing – a true adventure. Your journey finishes in exciting Saigon, the perfect place to treat yourself with a fantastic Vietnamese feast, relaxing massage and cold beer or three.
Trip grading: ADVENTUROUS Suitable for travelers with a good level of fitness, full and independent mobility; a keen sense of adventure is essential. Includes a lot of walking, basic accommodation in remote areas and occasional days of intensive traveling. Cycling components are leisurely two to four hour rides and our support vehicle is always on hand when you’d like to sit out.
What's included: 14 nights hotel accommodation (2 nights basic), all road transport by air-conditioned vehicles (half-day temple touring by tuk tuk), all sightseeing as specified (excluding entrance fees), Western tour leader* and local English-speaking guides throughout, arrival and departure transfers, breakfast daily. *This journey requires a minimum of seven travelers to operate. *Helmets are not included and we recommend you bring your own, as helmets produced in this region do not meet international safety and quality standards.
